Grandma's Birthday

Just came back from my dear grandmother's house!
She celebrated her birthday today. Oh wait, no, my uncles/aunts celebrated it for her. Yep.

She's 90+ btw. Wise old lady! Oo
And she's still cheerful =)

Anyway, my dad wanted to bring us to Chinatown and shop till morning, but my mum reminded him that it was a Sunday and that my bro and I had school tomorrow.

And it turned out that my dad didnt know it was Sunday afterall -.-"

There's jap dictation tomorrow! Argh how horrible. I am so history I only learnt like half the words. >< Spent the noon doing jap penmanship hw. Boo.

Oh btw last year some people spent half the time persuading me to take french for third lang, and now they are really inclined to quit. -.-

ARGH just found out one of my classmates is les. i think. Ah well girls school....

My Angel gave me a bag of Loacker Quadratini Waffles!!! :D :D :D She's the nicest, most generous Angel ever! in one letter she write "All hail quadratini waffles" so I asked her what they were. And she replied with one whole bag of them! Ahh how wonderful. My friends were kinda envious ;)

Munching on BBQ potato chips now. ALL HAIL BBQ POTATO CHIPS I SAY!! :D

No title for this post. Yupp.

My angel replied! Woot~ I put my letter in her class tray on Fri and she wrote back on Mon! That's so fast. (but not as fast as erin's; her angel replies the day after erin writes to her XD) She's so nice; she gave me dark blue and light blue Clean Colour pens. Whoa so generous (they cost $1.90 each) =) She used them to write my letter first; she says it's more special. I think so too! She doesn't use fancy paper but her handwriting's nice. Unlike me, I wanna write to her on nice paper to make up for my *ahem* handwriting =S

On reading lsa's latest post, I think I WANNA BECOME A PSL TOO! :D OR even a Prefect [high-post ;)] As long as I can associate myself with the Sec 1s. I'd like people to like me as a senior. XD Bwaha. I wonder if a prefect can be a PSL. Hmm.... so far I ahven't heard of any PSL who's also a Prefect. But they're Class Prefects who're very much like PSLs, cept that they don't attend PSL sessions. My Class Prefects are [i forgot who =/] and Gayle Lim from 414 =)

Speaking of Gayle we gave her a letter containing small notes from the class. I saw her at MOELC but I wasn't there when Gwen gave her the letter >< size="5">?
The paper was GREEN. Why GREEN?? IT should be the colour above all colours: BLUE!! BLUE stands for Richardson and 112 IS Richardson!! Anyway she did this drawing on some mountains at the bottom with pen. She draws great! I suck at drawing with pen ><>neat??? Small but nice. Blooh. Seems like I have the worst handwriting =(
I'll read the letter again tomorrow. =) Don't know where it went though...

Gah just realised havent done Jap HW OR Commonwealth Essay!! ARGH. Commonwealth Essay due Thursday and what have I written?? One paragraph?! (actually its two but they're like really short ><)

YAAAAAYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!

I haven't been so happy and relieved in months. (haven't since I got accepted into RG via DSA in Oct '04)

I got into Softball!!!!

Thank you wonderful wonderful softball team!! *muack*

I'm sorry if I sound irritating. I really am. But I'm just feeling high.

I had already started worrying when Chanel called me after TLL to say that she had gotten into Choir. And I heard that Cat got shortlisted into band.

I didn't even get shortlisted into anything; let alone make it into a CCA.

I was close to tears after I heard that Liying and Jing Xiao got calls from the softball team and I hadn't. Felt really left out along with Larissa. Then two minutes later I got the call. Heard the good news, whooped into phone, hopped around madly and informed friends online.

That was roughly what happened between 9.50 and 9.52pm yesterday night.

At least there's no chance of me being in UG anymore! XD I really wanted a sports CCA.
Oh and btw Lsa you didnt congratulate me like I congratulated you ><

To those who didn't make it into softball:
Pull yourself together. Not all hope is lost. You can always try again next year. For now I wish you all the best in your upcoming tryouts/CCAs.

RGS Orientation 2005

Long time no see... aye? Really sorry, guys. I'm just so caught up with my hectic school life that I can't be bothered to blog.
Where did we stop at?

ORIENTATION.

Orientation was a BLAST!!!!!! Night Surprise, sleepover and last but not least...CONCERT. There were more lah, but those were the highlights =))

I'll start with Night Surprise...cos that's one of my fave parts of the Orientation =) I had a helluve time, I tell you! Every class was supposed to chereograph 8 sets of line dance steps. CHOREOGRAPH DANCE STEPS. 8 SETS. IN 15 MINUTES. It seemed almost impossible!!! My class spent half the time discussing about we should do and not do. Since hardly anyone knew how to choreograph dance moves, we left all the work to Phoebe and Fik. So onstage we just did whatever Phoebe and Fik did. And guess what. THE DANCE WAS A SUCCESS!! =D We made Grace happy. And we were happy cos we like to see Grace happy ;D

Well, that was just the beginning. The REAL Night Surprise was that our seniors (PSLs/SPSLs) did real COOL performances for us, decked in red. Guessed it? MODERN DANCE. Omg I just looove Modern Dance. Hui Juen, Priscilla, Pei En, Sarah and Celeste performed. Hui Juen looked so cool acting cool. ;) Priscilla was one of the better dancers =) Celeste was [omg] so funny! She sorta stuck out her tongue when she danced =P whaha. She looked really cute. And Denise, one of the CMU, was PRO. Ah well, she's slender =/ Slender peeps always look more "graceful" when they dance [though this was modern dance. hip-hop.]. I was surprised Grace and Gayle didnt dance. =/ I think PITs werent in the list. Boo. And Gayle wasnt even there >< ended ="(((">< interested ="/">The Worm Song is so darn cuuuuute! (who cares if i use the c word) It goes like this:

Lights out. we kept giggling causing poor Mag not to sleep. Sorry!! We slept in the end anyway.

05.40 am
Woke up due to damn cold. Realised many people also woke up due to damn cold. Stayed awake till 6.

After we cleaned up and stuff, we had.... *drumroll* HOUSE PRAC!!!!!!!! Blue for Richardson man!!! Richardson = dead fish in early morn but after half an hr or so they'll be like so nice so enthu. I LOVE ONION CHEER!!!!! ;D I'll post lyrics sometime later =) And guess what the theme for Richardson is. BlooFM 200.5!!!!!! I think that's really cool. The piccy on the cover of the cheer booklet is really cute. [I'm feeling rather high now whaha] And another reason I like house prac is the house capt who's none other than Hui Juen, my class SPSL. I think she's an amazing leader.

Oh and there was the concert. Grace got really mad at us during mid-week cos we havent planned the concert properly yet ><. Then we came up with this last-minute idea of The Giving Tree. So we did the props, finalised the script (i was one of the scriptwriters XD) and rehearsed all in three days. Pretty fast ain't it? The performance on the actual was not bad! Zhen Yi acted as an old man it was damn funny! Grace was really happy and we were happy cos we made Grace happy =) [ok that was poorly phrased. and that was mentioned twice in this post. XP] We cheered for our class, whooped, screamed and basically made a helluva noise. Well, it WAS the last day of Orientation =(

By the end of the concert I was so so saaaaaaaaad. Will I ever get to see my class PSLs/PIT/Prefects again?? I miss Orientation terribly.

Don't want lessons to start. But I don't have a choice do I?

Anyway we learnt other RG cheers today. They are COOLIOS. Like, we all go in this reeeeeeally low voice "We're we're Raffles [ooh] Raffles [ahh].." That's why I look forward to school :D I love unity.

However, I can't believe I'm in a Girls' school. Meaning, no guys. My class is practically deprived of fun. Like, everyone (cept us NYites) is SO boring. I don't really like Felicia from RGP cos she is SO serious. She's 100% teacher's pet material. Bleargh.

I miss the guys. I really do. I miss Nanyang Primary. Last year I'd do anything to get out of Nanyang. But now I'd do anything; anything to go back to HellHouse. I know how much NYPS means to me. But I can only reminicise the times in which hearty laughter reverberated through the corridors. Angry voices were directed at boyish faces whose owners' mischevious streaks wouldn't change. Even if they didn't sound too good. >< I miss them like hell.

4 yours. 4 whole consecutive years without boys. I feel like a major part of myself has broken off.

I know for a fact that almost every NY girl feels the same way.

There was house practice today. One of my dreads in school, whether primary or secondary. Cept that I don't mind as much in Sec school. ;) I screwed up High Jump. -.-""""" but not so much in Standing Broad Jump (we were actually practising for Long jump -.-) but in the second try i deteriorated cos *somebody* said *something* wrong. HURH. Thats so no fair!!><

Anyway we were rushing skit. Bah. Stupid time limit. Only FIVE fucking minutes given for skit. So NOT fair!!! The poor seniors (PSLs) were reeeally stressed. Enough said.

Anyway yesterday I had Squash tryouts. I completely screwed up! I only hit ONE miserable ball above the line. Bah. No wonder didnt get in 2nd rd lah. But I'm trying out tomorrow again! Wish me luck, luck and more luck. Anyway I didnt get in Netball either. Why so suay one???? I really really really wanted netball. *sob*

My day concluded at like 6. Thats the time I go home everyday. Cos of tryouts lor. Bah. Luckily Orientation no hw!! Phew.

Going to stone now. Btw I plan to pay dear Nanyang a visit on New Year's eve. Cya peeps there soon!! =)

First day at school...

...WAS HORRIBLE.

I sucked it up! Can't believe how unlucky I was k.

1) I wore NYPS PE shirt with cullotes
WHILE EVERYONE ELSE WORE PINAFORE. That was cos on the stupid Sec 1 Orientation schedule they put PE + Cullote for Day 1. Wah Biang eh! RGS is soooo *efficient*. That probably explains why the other RG peeps were looking at me on the way home on the bus. ><

2) I got stern looks from a class teacher.
The PSLs said that Mrs Bala (my Form & Math teacher) was very "funny" but I didnt think so. She's so friggin serious!! She walked to the back of the classroom (new AND air conditioned btw!! :D) and said if one of us lost the Car Pass Registration sheet then the whole class must fu4 chu1 dai4 jia4 (bear the consequences). I was muttering "And they said she was funny?!" and turned around and did my *sarcastic look*. The CLE [dont ask me what it stands for] teacher (Ms Huang) caught me doing that and stared at me. I was like, Oh fuck, though [THANK GOD] i didnt say it aloud. She seemed damn strict. And apparently the teachers in RGS bitch about you to one another. Gawd I am actually scared. Bah. Paranoid??

3) I got told off by teachers.
Note the "s". During class (w/o lesson), I was sorting out my stuff and Magdalene was talking to me. And Huang came and said "Shhh!!!" and gave us a dirty look. OKay that may not be considered a scolding, but it gave the teacher a bad impression all the same. That was Number One.
Number Two. I was listening to that loooonnnngggg slooowwwww draaaagglyyyyyy talk by one of the teachers about the history of RGS. That took ONE WHOLE HOUR. Can you believe it??? Anyway Chanel took out and showed me the oil prints on her cheque for MOELC transport but barely a few seconds after we looked at it this guy teacher came and told us to keep the cheque.
Number Three. In the midst of the talk everyone started getting restless/falling asleep. I noticed that and started telling that to Chanel then some malay bitch teacher told us off. She was like, "Girls! Girls! Stoppit. Keep talking over there HUH?!" Then after i shut up for a while I turned to look at her and there she was, talking and GIGGLING with a fellow bitch teacher. I have nothing against malays; people who know me well enough should know that I'm NOT racist. But that teacher is such a FUCKING HIPPOCRITE. UGH!!!

4) I had a lousy recess.
Well recess was only like 15 minutes so my form teacher talked too much and overshot the time. So by the I rushed down and cooked my instant noodle (from the vending machine) there was an annoucement over the PA system to get us all into the KS Chee Theatre -.- but this nice nice teacher saw that I havent eaten my noodles and let me stay then go up :D Then Chanel and I realised we cooked the noodles. Because we were eating Mi Goreng, the noodles had to be drained of water before the season was out. But we put the seasoning THEN filled the cup with water. Eesh. So the noodles [obviously] tasted weird; if anything, soup with chilli powder.

BAH. I'll be heading off to school again in a matter of hours. Hope I don't screw up again!!!! Or wake up late. i always wake up early on the first day of school but thats necessarily applicable for the next few days/months/years. So...

New Year's Eve... SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am writing this in the last half hour of the year.

I am bored.

At least with Nation's Countdown 2005 I would have something to do right. But The Nation's Countdown is NOT broadcasted on TV anymore. Yessiree, because of the Tsunami incident.

Fuck Tsunami. Why did it have to come? Especially at THIS time?? We've OBL on our minds already without it charging in and making everything worse.

Fuck Tsunami. How many lives has it taken?? More than 120 000??? I saw this Thai woman on TV crying and lamenting about the loss of her daughter. That poor lady doesn't even know whether she's alive now. . .

Went shopping for stationery today. Wanted to get page markers but they were too ex ($6).

Went to TLL today. Stepped into Paris to see Mr Choe walking into Paris 1 wearing blue shower caps over his shoes. Paris 1 is biiiiiiig, Chanel. Although got no tables =`. We had to use clipboards. The carpeting is so so nice, (apparently) so nice until we werent allowed to wear shoes inside. I didn't wanna take off my shoes so I was horrified when I was informed that I had to wear those blue shower caps. Apparently they were plastic shoe covers made of diposable underwear material (not kidding). Among us, only Keng Yong wore them! He looked more retarded (than he already was). Seeing how he (and Mr Choe) looked, nobody else wanted to wear the shoe covers. but I still didn't wanna wear those ridiculous blue shower caps over my shoes. So Choe Choe took them back and we started our lesson, which was about Practical Criticism. We were using one of U2's songs, Love And Peace Or Else, which was about the 1960/70s war between the Middle-East and Jews. Song analysis... Cool! The week before we did Where Is The Love, and we got to watch the music vid in class. heeZ.

While Mr Choe was talking, talking, talking, I noticed Chuan Hong and Brenda got braces. Cat and Lsa are both getting their braces soon too. WHEN AM I GONNA GET MINE? HUH?? HUH??? For some reason my mum is rather reluctant to lemme get braces YET she complains about my teeth everyday. The dentist already told her she'd give us a discount already what!! Since the dentist is so nice, I'm gonna do a little advertisement for her.
